Greg has been involved in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction business for 42 years. He has worked for two Fortune 500 companies in that time, beginning his career during the summers of his youth working for a construction company, building projects for power, process, pharmaceutical and environmental clients. He continued with that company after attending Youngstown State University (65-69).  Positions and responsibilities increased over the years culminating with a home office assignment after ten years in the field for the construction organization.

Throughout his career, Greg has handled various responsibilities and positions including contracting, cost and scheduling, project management, material management and, for the past twenty-seven years, all matters related to the world of Supply Chain Management. Greg can consult on the complete cycle from contract proposal/award, execution of sourcing, expediting, inspection, logistics and field inventory control. Greg has been involved in projects around the world with significant procurement in the international market. As senior management, Greg’s involvement included international work and travel, resulting in benefits of close coordination and communication throughout the global market.

A subject near to the heart of his execution plan is the use of alliance suppliers whereby you benefit from an overall cost and schedule savings. Working agreements with suppliers can provide schedule savings early on in the proposal stage and allow all participants to protect their commitments. This definitely applies to indirect and direct procurements. Project terms—whether lump sum, firm fixed price, reimbursable, or target price—all require that there be a limitation of liability, an establishment of trust and a working relationship to assure the commitments of the agreement are satisfied.  The ever-changing world market for the supply of metals and the political atmosphere of a location are critical in establishing and executing a well-planned purchasing process for a company and a project.

Today’s world market and financial times offer us many challenges. How these are approached varies between organizations, the metals market, and oil pricing, all of which can generally effect not only the refining and utilities options to build, but also the ability to cap the cost of construction. The approach by all is to limit liabilities and to build the reputation of being capable of meeting the demands of the market.

Greg currently lives and works out of Baton Rouge. Since the Gulf Coast Crisis, Greg has been spending the majority of his time with State contracts to protect the Louisiana coastline.
